Our Vision: To be the best aerospace company for the world
Our vision is to be the best aerospace company for the world. For all we do, we want to benefit the company and the environment, with stronger, more resilient operations that also make the world a better place.
Our 2025 EH&S Sustainability goals include:
Environment Goals
-
15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
Greenhouse gas emission reduction continues to be a top priority for the company, and we aim for a further 15% reduction from 2019 levels.
-
10% reduction in water consumption
We seek to conserve water, reducing our use by 10% compared with 2019.
-
10% reduction in waste to landfill and incineration
The waste reduction goal seeks to reduce waste that is buried or burned by 10% from 2019 levels. These waste management methods have the most harmful environmental impacts and are the least-preferred according to the U.S. EPA waste management hierarchy.
-
100% implementation of water, waste and energy/greenhouse gas best management practices
We are also expanding the use of best management practices to enhance our environmental programs and reduce our impacts. We have selected more than 30 best practices in the areas of water, waste and energy/greenhouse gas for sites to implement.
Health and Safety Goals
-
100% reduction in high and elevated ergonomic risks, 50% reduction in medium risks
Ergonomic injuries (including injuries relating to lifting, lowering, pushing or pulling objects and from repetitive motion) are the leading type of workplace injuries.
-
50% reduction in high chemical and noise exposure risks
Another goal proactively targets reducing potential exposure — well beyond what is required by regulation — to certain hazardous materials such as solvents and toxic metals, and to noisy work environments.
-
100% implementation of level 1 mistake proofing
The level 1 mistake proofing goal is a corrective action process that requires controls such as engineering changes, task redesign or hazard isolation after all serious injuries, and lost workday injuries. This process leads to more robust corrective actions (beyond administrative controls) to prevent recurrence.
-
100% implementation of near miss reporting
The final safety goal is to ensure that all operations implement a near miss reporting system that identifies and eliminates hazards before they can result in an employee illness or injury. Identifying near misses — before they become injuries — is an essential step in maturing our safety culture into one that is proactive and focused in eliminating unsafe acts and conditions.
